Pop Leo XIV (born Robert Francis Prevost) was elected in May 2025, he is the 267th leader of the Roman Catholic Church and the first pontiff to have been born in the United States of America. The first to hold either U.S. or Peruvian citizenship, the first from the Order of Saint Augustine, and the second from the Americas.

Pope Leo XIV is the head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of Vatican City.
